News of the week #30

Big delivery again this week with the new BLOODCLOT and FULL OF HELL full length 12″s, SHEER MAG debut LP, TIGERS JAW LP , DARE and D.C DISORDER 7″s and tons of restock like all the YOUTH OF TODAY records and a lot more.

Bloodclot – Up In Arms [LP]

Bloodclot is a band with a power-packed lineup fronted by John Joseph of Cro-Mags with Todd Youth of Warzone and Murphy’s Law on guitar, Nick Oliveri of Queens Of The Stone Age and Bl’ast! on bass, and Joey Castillo of Queens Of The Stone Age and Danzig on drums. With this band, Joseph shows he still has a lot to say, spewing forth politically and socially driven lyrics over fast, thrashing, metal-tinged hardcore. Vinyl version includes download card.

Full Of Hell – Trumpeting Ecstasy [LP]

Maryland/Pennsylvania experimental, death-noise band Full Of Hell has embarked on quite the journey leading up to the their latest full-length album “Trumpeting Ecstasy,” their most punishing, virulent and dynamic work to date. The embryonic beginnings of Full Of Hell displayed their palette at its most primitive: D-beat and blast-ridden hardcore punk, with spats of noise and caustic rhythm. The band builds upon their Merzbow collaboration and the releases succeeding it with this latest – going into God City Studios with Kurt Ballou at the production helm, the result is their best and strongest. Vinyl version includes digital download.

Sheer Mag – Need To Feel Your Love [LP]

With three powerful EPs under their belts, Philadelphia, PA’s Sheer Mag finally presents its debut LP, a riff-fest that reaches into the pot of bands like Thin Lizzy and AC/DC without forgetting that they are rooted in the punk scene. Christina Halladay shows that she can sing with the best of ’em while the guitar leads take us all to the golden age of rock ‘n’ roll.

Tigers Jaw – Spin [LP]

Recorded with producer and longtime collaborator Will Yip at Studio 4 in Conshohocken, PA, “Spin” is the inaugural release from Black Cement Records, a new imprint under Atlantic Records. “Spin” sees Walsh and Collins trading off lead vocals that glow with sincerity on this collection of incredibly understated indie-pop classics. Tracks such as “Guardian,” “June” and “Escape Plan” shine on “Spin,” which follows Tigers Jaw’s 2014 critically-adored LP, “Charmer.” Profoundly personal and vibrantly textured, “Spin” exhibits Walsh and Collins’ remarkable ability to capture the sentiments and complexities of a moment through melody and introspection. Now available on colored vinyl.
